Barham School Slate Coasters — Set of 4

In 1875 a slate roof went up over a little school in the Pembrokeshire hills. A century and a half later, we found much of it on the floor — beautiful blue Welsh slate, too good to skip, too storied to sell as scrap.

So we've turned the fallen slates into coasters. Each one is split by hand from an original roof slate, eased at the edges, finished with food-safe mineral oil and corked underneath. No two are alike: you'll find copper streaks, weathered grain, and sometimes the original nail holes — 150 years of Welsh weather in the palm of your hand.

Every set is made to order here at the school, and 100% of the proceeds fund the new roof. Buy a set, and a piece of the old roof helps pay for the next one.
